Important Notes:

Do not use old or previously circulated 5 yen coins for making amulets. Only new coins that have not been used should be used.

Do not carry an amulet that contains four 5 yen coins together. The number 4 (四, shi) sounds like the word for “death” (死, shi) in Japanese, which is considered bad luck.
